Antonio Iaria traveled to America through Ellis Island as a 13 year old boy with his family in 1911 from his home in Oppido Mamertina in the Provence of Reggio Calabria, Italy.   As an adult he moved his family to the Jersey Shore in 1940.

HELLO!  I’m Deborah Iaria, owner of iariatravel.com.  I believe at the heart of any good travel consultant is someone who truly loves to travel and I do.  My husband, Tony Iaria, and I have traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe and beyond. 

We have been traveling with our daughters, Alicia now 21, and Toni now 17, since they were babies.  That experience helps me everyday when I’m planning trips for other families.  For instance I have always had my daughters bring their bathing suit in their carry on bag. And I tell all my clients to do the same thing, because often on cruises and land vacations too, your bags do not show up in your room for hours after your arrival. So unless you have your suit in your carry on bag you have no way to change.  There is nothing more painful for a parent to watch (and listen to) then their child that has to sit by the edge of the pool or on the beach in the long jeans and turtleneck they wore down on the plane from the cold north to the warm south while all the other kids play in the water.  I could not believe how many kids were in this position on the last cruise we took. As all parents know, if your child’s not happy, you’re not going to be happy and that’s no way to start a vacation. Their travel agent should have warned them.
